Daniele M. Donahoe, CFA
Chief Executive Officer and Chief Investment Officer
Daniele Donahoe came to our firm in May 2010
from Columbia Management Group, previously
owned by Bank of America, where as a Senior
Portfolio Manager she co-managed the
Columbia Small Cap Growth II fund. Prior to
Columbia Management, Daniele served as an
Associate Analyst on an Institutional
Investor Magazine Ranked Equity Research
Team following the Enterprise Software
Industry at Salomon Smith Barney (Citigroup)
in New York. She has also served as an
associate at Thomas Weisel Partners in San
Francisco, CA and J.C. Bradford in
Nashville, TN. Throughout her career,
Daniele has focused on equity research
across a broad range of industries ranging
from multi-billion dollar corporations to
small and micro capitalization equities, and
she has co-authored industry publications
such as B2B eCommerce: A Vertical and
Horizontal Perspective and E2E Commerce: How
the Internet Redefines Enterprise Software.
Daniele is a CFA charterholder and a
graduate of the Kenan-Flagler Business
School at the University of North Carolina
at Chapel Hill. She recently passed Level I
of the CAIA.
Daniele is Charlotte's Regional Director for
the NC CFA Society, is a member of the
Women’s Impact Fund and the Women Executives
(WE). She served as a tutor in the Study
Buddies program at Dilworth Elementary.
Daniele was recently awarded the Charlotte
Business Journal's Women in Business Award
for 2012, and the Charlotte Business
Journal's 40 Under 40 Award for 2013.
In 2014, she was honored with
the Mecklenburg Times 50 Most Influential
Women award.
Daniele is frequently quoted in the Wall
Street Journal, Bloomberg and other
investment related publications. |

Mary C. Rinehart,
CFP®
Chairman and Portfolio Manager
A native of Charlotte, Mary started the firm
as First Personal Financial Services Inc. in
1985 and later changed the name to Rinehart
& Associates, now Rinehart Wealth
Management. She received her undergraduate
degree in European History from Sweet Briar
College in 1961 and took additional business
courses at Queens University in the 1970s.
She has been a Certified Financial Planner™
Certificant since 1988. She has served as
President of the local chapter of the
Institute of Certified Financial Planners (ICEP)
and is a Sustaining Member of the National
Association of Personal Financial Advisors (NAPFA).
Mary recently served on the Board of the Madeira
School in McLean, Virginia and is presently Chair of
the Development Committee of the Dilworth
Center. She is a
member of the Women’s Impact Fund, a special
program of Foundation for the Carolinas, and
is Chair of the Bishop’s Committee of All
Saints Episcopal Church in Linville, North
Carolina. She is also Chair of the
Investment Committee of the Foundation of
Christ Episcopal Church in Charlotte. Mary is also a past President of
the Boards of Wing Haven and the Randolph
Center for Chemical Dependency, as well as a
past Treasurer of the Junior League of
Charlotte.

Elliott Van Ness, CFA
Director of Research and Portfolio Manager
Elliott joined the firm in March 2010 and
now serves as Director of Research and
Portfolio Manager. In his role as the firm’s
Director of Research, Elliott orchestrates
the firm’s in-house proprietary investment
research and analysis. In addition to
analyzing global economic trends, Elliott
performs in-depth equity market research,
fundamental equity analysis, and third-party
manager reviews utilizing robust financial
market analytics software. He helped to
implement and design the research and
portfolio manager due diligence templates
that serve as the basis and framework for
Rinehart’s proprietary research process.
Elliott leads and monitors the strategic
implementation of investment technologies
that improve the efficiency and efficacy of
the firm, such as the recent firm-wide
implementation of an enhanced wealth
management software suite. He oversees and
directs investment activities, working
closely with the Chief Compliance Officer to
monitor trade execution and compliance
requirements across the entire firm. In his
role as a Portfolio Manager, Elliott works
with the Financial Advisory Team on guiding
client investment strategies and conducting
systematic portfolio reviews and performance
evaluations. Prior to his current role Elliott was a
Senior Research Associate after joining our
firm as a Research Associate.
Elliott is a graduate of Davidson College
where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in French
and a minor in Economics. While at Davidson,
Elliott served as Secretary of his
fraternity, Sigma Alpha Epsilon, and was a
French tutor his senior year. He also
studied abroad in Paris and Tours, France
and is fluent in French. Elliott is a member
of Young ACG in Charlotte, a membership
class of the Association for Corporate
Growth (ACG®).
Elliott
successfully completed the CFA Program in
2014 and is a CFA charterholder. He is
a regular member of both the CFA Institute
and the CFA Society North Carolina.

Neal Deaton, MBA
Investment and Operations Manager
Neal Deaton joined Rinehart Wealth
Management in April 2014 as Investment and
Operations Manager. In this role he executes
all of the firm’s trading and works with the
team on researching and analyzing individual
stocks and providing investment commentary.
He holds the Series 65 license and is an
Investment Advisor Representative. Neal also
organizes the firm’s operations,
technology, and business development
projects. Neal earned a Bachelor of Arts
degree in Economics from the University of
North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a Master
of Business Administration degree with a
concentration in Finance from the Mason
School of Business at The College of William
and Mary. Neal is currently enrolled in the
Financial Planner Program at Queens
University in Charlotte in preparation to
obtain the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™
designation.
Prior to Rinehart, Neal worked for Parsec
Financial Management as a Portfolio Manager
where he managed and invested the assets of
high-net-worth clients. Before entering the
wealth management world, he was an equity
research analyst for several different
boutique investment firms as well as a
regional bank.
Neal and his son Parker
live in Charlotte, NC where they are active
members of Myers Park Presbyterian Church (MPPC).
Neal's wife Carey lost her courageous battle
with Cystic Fibrosis in October 2014. Neal is a member of the Charlotte
Economics Club and is actively involved with
the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation (CFF). In
recent years he has served on the
Foundation’s Board of Trustees for the
Carolinas Chapter. Neal is an Eagle Scout.

Brittany Danahey, CFA
Portfolio Manager
Brittany Danahey joined Rinehart Wealth Management as a Portfolio Manager in April 2015. In her role as a Portfolio Manager, she is responsible for the implementation and management of client investment portfolios. Her responsibilities include investment policy formation, asset allocation development, manager due diligence, portfolio performance monitoring and client relationship management. Additionally, Brittany is leading Rinehart’s “Next Generation Education” initiative, focusing on building a base of knowledge around investments, trusts and estates, premarital financial planning, retirement planning and insurance for clients in their 20s. Brittany brings seven years of investment management experience to Rinehart.
Prior to joining Rinehart, Brittany was a Family Investment Officer with GenSpring Family Offices, a multi-family office owned by SunTrust Bank in Charlotte, NC, serving as the first point of contact for ultra-high net worth families and advising on complex investment portfolios. Before joining GenSpring,
Brittany worked as an international
investment analyst at Cambridge Associates,
LLC, an investment consulting firm in
Washington, DC. While at Cambridge, Brittany
led weekly calls with high-priority
international institutional clients to
answer investment-related questions and
discuss portfolio strategy changes.
Brittany is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA)
Charterholder, and a regular member of the
CFA Institute and CFA Society of North Carolina. She is also a Series 65 license holder. Brittany graduated from the Kenan-Flagler Business School at UNC-Chapel Hill with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (Concentration in Finance) and a minor in Spanish. Brittany is a member of the Charlotte Association for Corporate Growth (ACG) and volunteers with the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure.
